Make a difference in the lives of children and artisans.
ShopatMAP (www.shopatmap.org) is a nonprofit organization with the mission to provide economic opportunity to emerging and disadvantaged female artisans while fueling community development and child poverty programs in the U.S. and around the globe.
Our vision is to create equity and sustainability in marginalized communities and to break the cycle of generational poverty.
Handcraft production is one of the largest forms of employment in the world. For many rural artisans, handcrafting is their only means of employment, but, due to limited access to a marketplace for selling their goods, they struggle to earn an income.
Our products are ethically sourced from such struggling individuals. We work with emerging and disadvantaged female artisans and artisan groups, including survivors of domestic violence, single mothers, individuals with disabilities, refugees, and young entrepreneurs.
We not only provide them with economic means but also empower them with financial literacy, business development, and professional development programs so that they can build economic security for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Additionally, we reinvest in the communities where we work along with Moms Against Poverty (MAP) (link to MAP website). Proceeds from ShopatMAP provide education and essential provisions for impoverished children, strengthening communities for generations to come.
Our vision is to create equity and sustainability in marginalized communities and to break the cycle of generational poverty.
